ASSIST joins Justice and Healing project partners in holding Albay barangay forum

The Justice and Healing (J&H) Project, an endeavor funded by the European Union, also launched a Barangay Forum on gender-based violence in Guinobatan, Albay last June 18, 2011.

The event was organized by J&H Area Coordinator Ms. Elaine Salazar, along with J&H Project Team Ms. Sheena Carmel Opulencia of Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), Ms. Theresa Balayon and Ms. Mae Jardiniano of Women’s Crisis Center, Ms. Olive Tripon of Project Lead Women’s Feature Service, Atty. Leavides Domingo-Cabarrubias and Atty. Claire Luczon of WomenLEAD.#

Ms. Elaine Salazar, the J&H Coordinator for Albay, welcomed the participants and the project team in the BUCAF Campus.

Atty. Claire Luczon discussed the various laws on gender-based violence, as well as the gaps and limitations in the implementation of the law.
