Sreeni Narayanan, Group Managing Director of the Asia Society for Social improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) and a Rotarian, spoke at a gathering of the members of the Rotary Club of Makati Dasmariñas last May 16, 2011 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati.
Narayanan introduced ASSIST and its work as a leading international capacity-building non-government organization which promotes sustainable practices to address social problems in the developing world, with focus on Asia & Africa.
He discussed ASSIST’s accomplishments on the areas of Social Improvement, Sustainable Transformation, People’s Development and Partnership Development. These include many projects developed in close collaboration with funding agencies such as the European Union (EU), various United Nations (UN) organizations, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Among these are EQUIP BPO (Enhanced Quality and Information Security Program for Businesses and Professionals in the Outsourcing sector), GPIoS (Creating Green Philippines Islands of Sustainability).
