UNEP-GREEN/AIST Responsible Production and Risk Management Workshop features ASSIST Knowledge Product

ASSIST’s Responsible Production Learners and Trainers Companion, was featured in the Responsible Production and Risk Management Workshop held by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in cooperation with the GREEN (Institute for Geo-Resources and Environment) and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) last March 24 to 25, 2011 in Siam City Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.

ASSIST Group Managing Director Sreenivas Narayanan presented the benefits of utilizing the knowledge product to support training, awareness raising and communication. Also known as the RP Companion, the tool is an interactive software-based training and communication package that can be used by presenters, trainers and trainees to raise awareness to the benefits of the approach and to guide RP users through some of the most important tools in the RP Toolkit.

The RP Companion also contains multimedia resources such as videos and presentations on chemical risk management and other interactive tools developed by UNEP, ASSIST, BIPRO and AccountAbility.

UNEP-GREEN/AIST’s workshop also featured presentations on new tools for industrial risk management such as AIST’s Geo-Environmental Risk Assessment System (GERAS), risk assessment of ozone and climate friendly technologies, and  the incorporation of responsible production in the development agenda of local communities.
